Jeera Pulao

    Ingredients:

    Rice – Basmati 1 cup (washed and soaked)

    Curd – ½ cup

    Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon

    Ginger garlic paste – 1 teaspoon

    Salt – to taste

    Caraway seeds – ½ teaspoon

    Garam masala powder – ½ teaspoon

    Fried Onions – 1 tablespoon

    Green chillies – 2-3 nos.

    Coriander leaves – ½ cup

    Oil – 2 tablespoons

    Water – as required

Directions:

    Heat oil in a pot.  Add the caraway seeds, ginger garlic paste, green chilies, coriander leaves and fried onions. Lower the flame and add the curd and lemon juice. Sauté for a couple of minutes. Add water approximately 1 and half cup and bring to a boil. Add the soaked rice, garam masala powder and salt to taste. Keep boiling until water is almost dried. Cover the pot with lid and keep on simmer for about 5-7 minutes. Open lid and give a slight stir and again cover for a minute or so. Serve hot.
